Nursing Admission Circular 2025
Admissions have started for the 2024-25 academic session in government and private nursing and midwifery institutions. Below are the details regarding the courses, eligibility, admission process, and entrance exam structure.
Available Courses
- BSc in Nursing – 4-year program
- Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery – 3-year program
- Diploma in Midwifery – 3-year program (for female candidates only)
Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent in 2022, 2023, or 2024 and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent in 2020, 2021, or 2022.

BSc in Nursing: Candidates must have a minimum combined GPA of 7.00 in SSC and HSC (Science background). No exam should have a GPA below 3.00, particularly in Biology.

Diploma Courses: Candidates from any discipline must have a combined minimum GPA of 6.00 in SSC and HSC. No individual GPA should be below 2.50.
Admission Test Structure
BSc in Nursing
- Bengali: 20 marks
- English: 20 marks
- Mathematics: 10 marks
- Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry): 30 marks
- General Knowledge: 20 marks
- Total: 100 marks
Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery
- Bengali: 20 marks
- English: 20 marks
- Mathematics: 10 marks
- General Science: 25 marks
- General Knowledge: 25 marks
- Total: 100 marks
Diploma in Midwifery
The same exam structure applies, consisting of a 100-mark question paper.
Admission Process & Fees

Male & Female Ratio:
- In BSc and Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery, government institutions will admit up to 10% male students, while private institutions may admit up to 20% males.
- The Diploma in Midwifery course is exclusively for female candidates. -
Application Process:
Applications must be submitted online. Detailed instructions are available on the official websites of the Directorate of Nursing & Midwifery and the Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council. -
Selection Process:
The final selection will be based on SSC and HSC GPA (each carrying 25 marks) and the admission test score. Candidates must score a minimum of 40 marks to pass. -
Application Fee:
- BSc in Nursing: 700 BDT
- Diploma Courses: 500 BDT
The application will be finalized upon fee payment.
